The town side of the promenade is home to lots of nightlife ready for adults to enjoy themselves and also a lot of hotels. There is also the Villa Marina where many formal events take place for all ages. The sea terminal is also situated here

The grandstand is the center of all the hype during the TT and Manx Grand Prix. There are several stalls that sell racing merchandise and a food court with several options such as chips, burgers and even ice cream. The paddock is also there which is where spectators can see the bikes and meet riders.

The National Sports Center (or NSC for short) is split into areas. There is the swimming pools complete with flumes for the younger ones. There is a gym and several sports halls for different types of sport. There is also an outside running track and astroturf which are used by many schools

The biggest fast food chain on the island and usually a very busy place. A restaurant which has both sit in facilities and a drive thru. It is open 24/7 due to employees working different shifts so no matter the time you can always go and relieve your hunger. Be nice to the employees though.

Everyone must attend their local school until they leave year 11 at 16 and they can stay on two years in sixth form to do their A-Levels if they wish to. Douglas has many primary schools and 2 secondary schools (St Ninians and Ballakermeen)
